Welcome to the Official Miller Orthopaedic Review Course, United Kingdom.
Based on the highly successful Miller Review Course held in Denver, Colorado, Professional Medical Education hosted this FRCS (Tr & Orth) course in the UK for the first time ever in April 2011- and it was a huge success!
We will once again be running our Advanced Clinical Examination & Viva for FRCS (Tr & Orth) Course on the weekend of October 7th - 8th 2017.
Our next main course will be our eighth annual course and will be taking place as the historic Pembroke College in Oxford, January 2nd - 7th 2018 and will include the Miller UK Review Course, the Advanced Clinical Examination Course and the Viva for FRCS (Tr & Orth) Course.
The main course offers an intense and comprehensive review of Orthopaedics which is based on the 7th edition of the essential Review of Orthopaedics text by Mark D Miller.
Primarily aimed at those who are sitting the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination, it is also useful for all those orthopaedic trainees or orthopaedic surgeons in practice who may wish to brush up on the very latest in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
We are also the only FRCS (Tr & Orth) course to offer delegates a free return place if they do not pass their FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination after attending our complete course.
In the USA this course has the highest attendance of any orthopaedic review course.
The course focuses on covering all essential and testable aspects of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in the context of the FRCS (Tr & Orth).
The faculty are all Fellowship trained and they are chosen because they really can teach. Course participants grade the faculty and only the best lecturers are invited to return.
The Review Course runs for 4 days and will cover all topics required for the FRCS (Tr & Orth). Expect to start early, finish late and gain valuable knowledge!
Immediately following is the Advanced Clinical Examination Course, and the Viva for FRCS (Tr & Orth) Course, making the complete course last a staggering 6 days!
Our seventh sold out annual UK Miller Orthopaedic Review Course which took place in January 2017 was a huge success!
We were delighted to welcome a wide variety of international course attendees, including large parties from Australia, Egypt, Finland, Hong Kong, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Spain and Switzerland.
Our next Clinical & Viva weekend will be taking place October 7th - 8th 2017 in Oxford (venue TBC).
Our eighth annual course and will be taking place January 2nd - 7th 2018 at the historic Pembroke College, Oxfordshire.
"Thank you for a brilliant course. The lecture sections were excellent and in particular the Orthopaedic Oncology sessions which have really helped clarify a lot of concerns I have in managing bony lesions. " (Jan, 2017)
"I thought this was an outstanding course, it is how post-graduate medical courses should be run. It was proper education and teaching with an extremely high level of interaction, education and involvement." (Jan, 2012)
"The recent Miller UK Course is a credit to the reputation of the original Miller Course. The speakers have taken note of the tradition of the American course, with exam relevance within the content and a punchy pace for the delivery of a significant volume of information. The course provided a comprehensive review with clear presentations from an authoritative faculty. Essential topics were delivered well with an appropriate level of detail. There was an emphasis on safe strategies for the FRCS examination, with many of the presenters providing frameworks for an approach to the both common controversies and exam questions. The Miller UK Course is an intensive week of Trauma and Orthopaedic revision. Future courses will prove to be as useful for those trainees that are embarking on FRCS preparation, as for those who are about to sit the examination itself." (Jan 2012)
"The course presented excellent value for money and I am now feeling much more confident and polished about the FRCS(Orth) Exam. There was a good mix of Consultants and Fellows who all contributed their exam experience and knowledge as well as sharing a passion for teaching." (Jan, 2012)
"They should all stand tall and be very proud of their hard work and efforts. It was an amazing experience for me and my fellow candidates. I feel very glad to have been part of it all." (Jan, 2012)
"I will take this opportunity to commend all of you for organizing such a fantastic FRCS course. It was an extremely hectic course and I am sure the logistics of organising an event like this would be tremendous, but thanks to you all and specially Mr Cosker it was one of the best organised courses I have ever attended. I think in the coming years this will be the most important course for the exam goers and will be on every condidates calender. In 5 days you have managed to cover the whole spectrum of orthopaedics which is amazing and hats of to your amazing speakers who managed to convey it in digestible concise format." - Mr G. Rathore (April, 2011)
"Very intensive, thorough overview of knowledge needed for FRCS. Really found 'Pub Quiz' useful and entertaining. Course dinner was also an important to get to know the whole group better." (April, 2011)
"Very well organised. Appreciated the work gone into collecting all the handouts. The Faculty were very approachable. Enjoyed the course and excercise sessions." Mrs V. Spiteri (April, 2011)
